Supervised Contact is a statutory service
provided by the local authorities where the child/young person has
been accommodated by the local authority and a need has been
identified for the child/young person to have contact with their
birth parents and other relatives. These are usually under orders
as specified by the court (under section 8 of the Children’s
Act 1989).
The supervised contact service that will offer a menu of services
on a part block, part spot contract basis. The contract will
consist of - a block contract for Supervised Contact Service, this
is the total service of contact supervisors and venue
combined,
This pro-forma seeks member approval to add the procurement and
retender of a new Supervised Contact service to the Forward Plan
for a four year term (2+1+1), which will be a two year contract
with an option to extend for a further two years on a one plus one
basis, effective from 01 April 2020.
