Following the acquisition of the property at
60 Orlando Road, the Council is proposing to work with Ipsus
Developments and Omnibus Theatre to bring forward plans for a small
scale redevelopment of the rear of the site, with the aim of
creating a new asset, subject to further discussions with the
planning department and formal consent, which will provide a
sustainable revenue stream to the parties. The form of this joint
venture is being discussed and it is anticipated that any works
contracts will be under the OJEU threshold.
The Council wishes to engage with the above parties who will bring
the local and commercial expertise to the venture. Ipsus
Developments brought the opportunity to the Council and in
recognition of their input to the process, it is proposed that the
Council continues to utilise their significant local development
expertise.
The Council also wishes to continue to work collaboratively with
Omnibus to ensure the future of the building as a leading
performance arts venue.
