Vehicle Replacement Programme for Lambeth Landscapes

To approve £1.339m capital funding for a fleet replacement programme for Lambeth Landscapes – Lambeth’s Direct Services Organisation covering the maintenance of parks and open spaces. This will replace stock purchased Veolia in 2004 that is now well beyond its expected operational life and is costing a disproportionate amount in terms of maintenance and servicing.

Standard vehicle depreciation is seven years, so this investment represents an annual cost of £191,000. However, most of these vehicles will remain operationally viable for 10 years.

Every effort will be made to source alternatives to diesel vehicles where affordable and operationally practical. Officers are currently investigating hybrid and electric options.
