West Norwood land acquisition

21/06/2019 - West Norwood land acquisition

(1)       To delegate the authority to acquire the site by private treaty to the Strategic Director for Sustainable Growth and Opportunity, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Planning, Investment & New Homes, subject to criterion (a) in the Part II report.

 

(2)       Should acquisition by private treaty fail an ‘in principle resolution’ to acquire the site by Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) be delegated to the Strategic Director for Sustainable Growth and Opportunity and the Head of Legal Services, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Planning, Investment & New Homes, with the acquiring authority to take all preparatory steps necessary to make the CPO and pursue its confirmation by the Secretary of State (or the council) subject to criterion (b) in the Part II report.

 

(3)       Upon successful acquisition to delegate the authority to redevelop the site under a ‘self-delivery’ approach, to the Strategic Director for Sustainable Growth and Opportunity, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Planning, Investment & New Homes, subject to criterion (c) in the Part II report.
