Purpose:
To approve the purchase of eight electric
small mechanical brooms directly from the only supplier of the type
specified and needed to deliver the new Recycling, Waste Collection
and Cleansing Services Contract, due to commence on 1 October
2021
Decision:
1. That the Council approves the procurement of the required Electric Small Mechanical Brooms direct from the manufacturer and supplier, GM Sweepers UK Ltd. at a total maximum cost of £657,018. Maintenance of the vehicles is covered within the core contract cost of the new Recycling, Waste Collection and Cleansing Services Contract.
2. That a waiver to Clause 8.1 – Purchasing Competition Requirements of the Council’s Contract Standing Orders be granted.
