Expansion of access to the Discretionary Test & Trace Support Payment and the Lambeth Stay Home Support Payment

Decision Maker: Strategic Director: Finance and Investment

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

The detection of Covid-9 variants of concern in Lambeth in April 2021 prompted a review of the barriers to self-isolation experienced by residents, with the financial impact of self-isolation remaining the most commonly cited. The sustained reduction in the volume cases of Covid in Lambeth over the last four months has reduced the demand for the support payments. This has made it possible to expand the criteria and therefore access to the financial support for a wider number of lower-income residents. This report recommends increasing the means test threshold as well as extending the scope of the Lambeth Stay Home Support Payment.
