The Council offers a large range of payment
options for bill paying customers, such as direct debit, kiosks,
internet, telephone, Post Office and PayPoint. The overall income
received in the financial year 2014/15 was approximately
£305.8 million. The Council offers facilities for those
residents that prefer to make cash payment transactions. This
facility is currently provided by Co-op bank who collects regular
or ad-hoc payments at any Post Office or PayPoint outlet. The sum
total of payments collected by this method is approximately
£37 million a year. The payments are remitted to the Council
on a daily basis. The current contract with the Co-Operative bank
expires on 28 February 2016.
